Indian Army SSC Technical 68th Entry (Men) 2026 – 350 Short Service Commission Officer Posts
Indian Army has announced 350 Short Service Commission (Technical) entries for the 68th SSC Tech (Men) batch (April 2027 intake). B.E./B.Tech graduates in various engineering streams can apply. 14-year service tenure with option for Permanent Commission.
Job Details
Post: Short Service Commission Officer (Technical) – Lieutenant to Captain rank. Batch: 68th SSC Tech (Men) April 2027.
Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecom, Computer Science/IT, ECE, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Metallurgy, Chemical, Production/Industrial Engineering or equivalent streams with minimum 60% aggregate marks from a recognised university. Final year students with 60% up to pre-final year are also eligible to apply. Age: 20–27 years (born between 02 January 2000 and 01 January 2007).
Physical Standards: Height minimum 157.5 cm (relaxation for hill region candidates). Weight and chest proportionate to height. Medically fit as per Army Medical standards.
Salary: Lieutenant: ₹56,100 basic + MSP ₹15,500 = ₹71,600. Captain: ₹61,300 basic + MSP ₹15,500 = ₹76,800. Additional: DA (60% of basic), HRA/Accommodation, Kit Maintenance, Ration Allowance, Hardship/Field Area Allowances. Total in-hand ₹80,000 – ₹1,00,000+ per month.
Service: 14-year SSC tenure; eligible to apply for Permanent Commission at 5th year.
Selection Process: Applications shortlisted by Army HQ → SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview (5 days: Stage-1 Officer Intelligence Rating + PPDT; Stage-2 Group Testing, Psychology, Conference) → Medical Examination → Merit List.
